Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston last summer, Renata has blossomed into a goofy, friendly, and fiercely loyal companion during her time in foster care. True to her breed, Renata is sharp as a tack and eager to please. Her foster family affectionately calls her "Reny," and she’s the type of dog who thrives in a breed-savvy home. Reny is a natural adventurer who would make the perfect sidekick for someone who loves to hike, travel, or simply explore the world. She’s already got her basic commands down—she walks beautifully on a leash, sits on command, and is ready to keep learning. According to her foster mom, she’s "one of the smartest dogs I've ever had," and that’s saying something!

Reny does have one little quirk—she’s got a thing for chasing cars. She’s working hard on curbing that enthusiasm, but a home away from busy roads would be ideal for her. When it comes to playtime, Reny’s all about fun! She gets along great with other dogs, especially the playful ones, but she’s not a fan of alpha types. She likes to start play sessions with a bit of rough-and-tumble, so a canine companion who can match or tolerate her energy is a must.

Reny is also a pro with kids! She’s been walked by her foster mom’s nieces and nephews (ages 6-12) and even did great around a 2-year-old in the home. And just to add to her charm, Reny has been known to happily don a costume or two, all while dishing out kisses and wagging her tail.
